Coming into her own...

It seems like just yesterday that we brought Madison home from the hospital. I cannot believe that two years have passed by already! Where has the time gone? She has grown so much, matured so much and she is really coming into her own....
Madison is a funny little girl. She is full of energy, compassion and lots of love. She is very much aware of her surroundings and so very smart. (I wonder where she gets that from?) She has learned so much from school. She knew she was, "on de plane, in de sky"...in her words. She understood that it was her birthday and that we were celebrating her as she sang, "Happy Bert-day to Madison". On a few occasions she blurted out with excitement, "On de plane, in de sky, bert-day cake, i-cream!!!"
Madison is certainly full of lots of energy. She runs and runs and runs whenever she gets the opportunity; even when we are at home, she runs around the island in the kitchen, laughing out loud! She loves going outside....she constantly asks, "outside, outside, outside?"
She is a very sensitive little girl as well. When her Grandma, also known as "Guy-Guy", has a bad cough, Mimi runs over to her, asks her, "are you ok?" She then follows that up with, "Wawa?" Which means, she is asking Grandma since you are coughing, would you like some water? If Guy Guy says yes (which she usually does), Mimi runs off to find a bottle of water and rushes back to Guy Guy's rescue!
"I love you Mommy! I love you Daddy! I love you Guy Guy!" These are phrases that we constantly hear around the house or wherever we may be. If we are the ones to initiate the "I love yous".... then we hear, "I love you too!" Lots of hugs and kisses are shared as well. Madison is just a very sweet child.
Enrolling her in school, although we were a little nervous at first, has really paid off. She has learned so much and brings it all home to share with us what she has learned. She marches in place counting "1...2...3...4..." She knows, "apart, together, apart, together..." She knows what it means to, "turn around", "stand up" and "sit down". Anything she wants she will go and get your shoes, put them in front of you on the floor, take your hand and say, "come on...get up" and lead you to whatever her little heart desires. Even before she started school we saw signs of her intelligence. From before she could really talk, she would sing. Now she sings pretty clearly her 'ABCs', 'God Bless America', and many other songs. She knows what she wants and she makes no mistake in asking for it until she gets it. If she likes a song, she will say, "again", when it's done playing so that we can play it again it for her. She loves to sing, "Jesus loves the little children", "Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in my Heart", "A Sunbeam", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and her all time favorite song to sing is "No One", by Alicia Keys. Madison loves to count to 20, almost always leaving out 5 and repeating 13 twice! She is starting to string words together in a sentence, for example: "Mommy, can I have ba-ba, please?"
When we go to church, Madison will lift her hand in reverance and sing without any prompting.
All in all, Madison is just a joy to have around...I think we'll keep her!
