What a difference!

Wow! What a difference!  At the beginning of the school year, her uniform was big on her.
The skirt was below her knee and the blazer was roomy.  At the end of the kindergarten school year, the skirt was above her knee and the blazer was fitted!

First Tennis Lesson

We are trying Mimi at a few different things this summer to see what she really likes and what she's good at.  We tried Hip Hop dance on Monday and although she enjoyed it, we felt it wasn't the right fit at this time. We're gonna try cheerleading on Friday and Daddy is teaching her soccer basics at home and she loves it (see post below).  Yesterday we tryed tennis! As they are on their way, he tells her where they are going. She says, "Oh no Daddy, that's not a good idea! I'm horrible at tennis". He's like, you dont even know what tennis is. She's like, "Oh yes I do. Tennis is like ping pong without a table and I always miss the ball."   Well guess what?  As you can see from the pictures above, she absolutely loved tennis and can't wait to go back!  We're excited for her!

Butterfly Birthday Party - Sneak Peak

Creating this Butterfly Birthday Party for Madison's 5th birthday was so much fun! Thanks to Hobby Lobby and Halo Heaven (www.haloheaven.com) for making it possible. The wands, tutus and wings were purchased online at Halo Heaven. They were truly a hit at the party. The cake was created by Nadia of Cakes by Nadia (http://cakesbynadia.weebly.com/cakes.html) and our photographer was the one and only Sam McCall. Also, take a look at this blog...our party was featured on it...so cool! http://livepretty.com/2012/01/14/truly-living-pretty-a-mom-honors-her-passion-for-party-planning/#comments

Broken Heart

On Wednesday of last week, I dropped Madison off at school before I had to leave for the airport. I was Baltimore bound....work not pleasure; although I did enjoy the conference immensely. I attended the America Bar Association Forum on Franchise Conference. I was able to catch up with friends that I've made over the past three years of attending; while learning about all of the new laws as it pertains to Franchising. Wednesday was picture day, so before going in for the professional school pictures (see below), I wanted to grab one of my own (see above).

So, as I was saying....I dropped Madison at school and earlier that morning and late the night before, we both cried. We were going to miss each other, or so I thought! So as I drove away from the school, I see Madison in on the playground crying her little eyes out:
I start thinking to myself just how hard my going away will be on her. So, I pull over and ask, "Madison, what the matter, baby?" Her friend, Riley responds, "Derek broke her heart!" OMG!!!!! And I thought it was all about me! Who's heart is really broken now? LOL

Special Shout Out to my late Grandmother, Mavis Louise Ferguson. Happy 95th Birthday today! You are gone, but never forgotten! Love you!

Almost Five Years Old...

MADISON MACKENZIE

Wow! I cannot believe that almost five years have passed since Gordon and I brought Madison into this world! It's been five wonderful, rewarding, joyful, exciting years! It's truly amazing to watch her grow, explore and learn. She is the most inquisitive child I know! The questions never stop and the way she interprets non-verbal communication blows me away. Many call her precocious, some call her funny, others call her sweet, but we call her a miraculous blessing!
