The Lord directs the steps of the Godly; He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalms 37:23

With all of the 'graduation and prom' talk nowadays.....I can't help but think that before I even realize it Madison will be walking across that stage, picking out a prom dress and applying to colleges. It's really amazing how time flies. I think to myself am I doing all that I can do to lead her in the right direction? Am I setting a solid example for her to follow for the rest of her life? What am I doing to ensure her success, whatever success might be in her eyes when the time comes? Am I teaching her to love and be loved? Am I showing her how to care for others? How to be sensitive to the needs of others? How am I demonstrating to her what's important in life?
Madison, I dedicate these lyrics to you, it sums up everything that I feel right now and want to say to you:
It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
You're walking in the truth
And If I never told you
I want you to know
As I watch you grow
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings
May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
Oh, but more than memories
It's not living if you don't reach for the sky
I'll have tears as you take off
But I'll cheer as you fly.

I love you Madison and may your steps be ordered by the Lord!

My Mommy's Graduation

On Saturday, May 9th I graduated at the Tropicana Field in St. Pete from St. Petersburg College with a post baccalaureate paralegal certificate. The program took me about a year to complete, however I did have a few paralegal classes that I was able to transfer in. It was a very rigourous program and I think I worked harder for this than I did for my Bachelor's of Science degree. (Smiling) It was a very special day for me, especially because my beautiful princess was in attendance! We had a wonderful day.

Family Fun

On Saturday, May 2nd Mom, Madison and I met up with my sister & brother in law, Nancy & Gary who are visiting from San Diego, my niece Yao-Yao and Gary's Mom Terry. Unfortunately, Leslie, Graham and PJ couldn't make it and they were missed. We all piled into the "Mimi-Van" and started our two hour journey to Sebring. The girls (Madison, 2 and Yao-Yao, 4) spent most of the journey watching Dora and the Backyardigans on the portable DVD players...boy were those things life savers...or atleast, ear savers...for us! We were driving to Sebring, Florida to meet Dad & Polly (Opa & Oma) who live in West Palm Beach, as this was a half way point for them and us. Our first stop was the Children's Museum. This place was awesome! It was interactive, educational and loads of fun. As you will see in the pictures below, they have a children's Publix supermarket; a bank; postoffice, a diner and much, much more! I am confident that I had more fun than the kids! Later we went to a nearby park and had a family picnic....boy did we have a big spread! Pictures of that to come...

Easter Sunday 2009

Today on Easter Sunday after church we went to Clive & Stefany's house to enjoy the pool.
The weather was just right and Madison truly enjoyed herself.
