HISTORY IN THE MAKING

No matter what our political views are, we cannot deny that this is a major milestone for African Americans, for our country and for our children. I never thought that I would live to see the day that a black man was elected President of the United States of America. In the 60's, Robert Kennedy said, "In 30-40 years, a negro could possibly be president of the United States!" Wow, Bobby! You were really on to something. Dr. Martin Luther King would be so happy! Although we may all have different views, we now all have the same President and we must pray for him and ask God to guide him and give him the wisdom that he needs to run this awesome country. Madison, you are a part of this historic event. I can now say to you, with no uncertainty, that you can one day become the president or vice president of the United States! It is possible! You are living during a very historic time in our nations history. You are just a few weeks away from turning two years old, however one day you will understand what this all means. What a wonderful country we live in! God Bless America!

Pictures for Opa!

This morning as Madison was waiting for Daddy to take her to school, I asked her if I could take a few pictures of her for "Opa". She agreed. However, apart from something catching her attention outside, she insisted on sitting on her "favorite" pink chair. So she dragged it outside, put it in front of the van, sat on it and said, "Cheeeeeeese". Unfortunately, she never looked at the camera! Sorry, Opa...no smiles this time!

Happy 7th Anniversary!

Gordon and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary this past weekend on a yacht at the Pasadena Yacht and Country Club in Gulf Port, Florida (St. Petersburg). It was a nice, relaxing get away. We slept on the boat and walked a few feet away to the pool side tiki bar for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Jason, our cook made us the most delicious omelette! It was out of this world and it was my very first omelette, ever (for those of you who know me well, you know that I don't usually allow my food to touch, much less mix it all together-LOL). Although we truly missed Mimi, it was nice to be together, just the two of us. Gordon brought a few DVDs for us to watch. The first DVD he put in was "A Fools Gold". The funny thing about it was that in the first scene, their yacht blew up, in flames! I thought that was hiliarious!

BUSCH GARDENS

We had fun at Busch Gardens today with Mimi. We went straight to and spent all of our time in, 'The Land of the Dragons' (a kiddie park in Busch Gardens). The weather was nice and the experience was very theraputic for all of us! Afterwards, we went to Jason's Deli to eat...I had soup and a salad, my favorite...YUMMY!!! Mimi enjoyed Ice Cream after her meal.

MOM...MOM...MOM...

My cousin Jenae has this video on her blog and I had to snatch it because it reminds me so much of Madison. Madison does the EXACT same thing to me, especially when I am trying to hold a conversation with someone else. This video really made me laugh...I hope you enjoy it too. Feel free to check out my cousin's blog and see my beautiful cousin Stella Blu. Click on this link to be directed immediately to her site:

Remember 9/11

Today makes it exactly one month since Madison started school. Today also commemorates the day that many America's lost their lives. Madison is wearing her New York shirt to pay tribute to those in New York especially. Today is also Madison's Oma's birthday, "Happy Birthday Oma"!
