Kids say the darnest things...

I ask Madison last night, "Madison, what do you want to be when you grow up?" I was sitting on the couch and she was standing in between my legs looking up at me. She cups my face in her hands and she looks me straight in the eyes, our noses almost touching. She says to me, in a tone where it seems like she feels sorry for what she is about to say to me, and then she blurts out as politely as she can, "Mommy, I have to grow up [first]!" My jaw dropped and I just stared at her. She kissed me and ran away to play. Just amazing! Kids truly do say the darnest things!

This morning, Madison asked “Guy Guy’ if her foot hurts? Without waiting for an answer, she got a pen and paper and proceeded to examine Guy Guy’s foot. As she was examining her foot, she stopped to write down her comments. She told Guy Guy, “I am a doctor”. I guess she “grew up” overnight. So Guy Guy asked her, “what are you going to do with my foot?” Madison ignored her questions (much like a doctor would) and said, “give me your right foot”. Guy Guy gave Madison her left foot and Madison said, “no, not that one, the right one.” She examined her foot and then asked to check her “belly”. Connection? Who knows? Funny? Most definitely!
